History
The construction contract for the boat was on the 2nd February 1935 to the German works , Kiel awarded. The keel was laidon the 11th of February 1935, the launch on 1 July 1935, the putting under Lieutenant Hermann Michahelles eventually found on 25 July 1935 instead.It was used from July 1935 to August 1939 as a training boat in the Education Association of U-school or school-submarine flotilla. When Norway corporate companies Weserübung it served from March 1940 to April 1940 as a front-boat U-boat flotilla school before returning (1940 May-30 June 1940) as a school boat the submarine flotilla and the 21-school Flotilla in Pillau (July 1, 1940 to April 8, 1944) was assigned.
